Summary:
The toolmaker analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
Responsibilities Level 1:
Ability to build or machine from raw stock semi-complex parts using blueprint and machines and tools available Ability to bore holes with a tolerance of .
0010 Lifts machine parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable.
Provides support function for production.
Performs general maintenance as needed Assists machine operators in maintenanceQualifications Level 1:
Tool & Die Maker certificate and/or equivalent 5 years of related work experience Must demonstrate the ability to understand and work with basic mathematical concepts Must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills and have the ability to provide written and verbal instructions and present information clearly Must demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawing, mylars and sketches as applicable to work being performed at Orizon Must be able to pass basic skills assessment for Microsoft Excel and also demonstrate basic skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Must be able to pay attention to detail.
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Must be able to work extended hours, overtime and weekends when necessary to support production and operations activities.
